Category: To Bloggers

The Autism-Hub previously displayed blogs that frequently include or comment on scientific topics in a separate category, statically placed at the bottom of the list.

This has changed, and all blogs previously listed in the category “On The Scientific Side”, are now part of the main list. The only separate category (and intended to stay that way for the time being) is the category for “Valuable Archives”.

The Autism-Hub is fortunate to link the excellent work of some scientifically-minded bloggers, and it seemed a missed opportunity for readers to always have those blogs appear at the bottom of the page. We hope this minor change is a welcome one for both visitors and bloggers.

Where’s My Blog?

Dear Autism Hub Bloggers (past, present, and future),

One of the most noticeable changes with The Autism Hub will undoubtedly be the much smaller current group of blogs, at least at first anyway.

While transitioning The Hub from the previous admins, a decision was made to refocus on quality versus quantity. This does not necessarily mean that blogs that were once a part of The Hub, but do not appear listed on The Hub presently, were determined to be of insufficient quality. The sheer number of good blogs to carefully review makes this a difficult task to accomplish in and of itself.

For those who write blogs (that used to be listed) which were not selected during this first round of post-hiatus review, please consider submitting your blog for early consideration in the next round of review (see the about page for more on how to send submissions). Keep in mind that it is the goal of the review team that only the highest quality blogs are selected, and that the number of submissions is expected to be much higher than those actually selected during any one round of review. Potential Autism Hub bloggers are invited to submit their blogs for listing review once quarterly.

Although general guidelines of blogs being about autism and mindful of the Hub’s stated mission apply, please note that there are some new minimum guidelines: new Autism Hub blogs must contain a reasonably conspicuous and accessible link to the blog author’s (or pseudonymous author’s) profile and contact information, as well as a clear stated comments policy (review decisions are not based on the comments policy itself, but it’s existence is required). Review of existing blogs for these minimum guidelines will also take place.

For clarity, there will be additional published, objective guidelines (coming soon).
